My Richmond is special in ways that people who haven't experienced it don't understand. You have to walk the streets of the Fan, enjoy a beer at Legends or take in the view from atop the flood wall...and then maybe it will begin to soak in...its something you have to feel. Talk to few Richmonders and you'll find a curious and admirable devotion to thier neighborhood. When I meet people, it's like it doesn't matter if they live in Oregon Hill, Church Hill, Manchester, Ginter Park...if you live THERE then you could never imagine living some place else. This is the city where Patrick Henry declared "Give me liberty...", its the city where Maggie Walker served as the 1st African American bank president and its the city where the likes of Edgar Allan Poe and John Wilkes Booth earned a livelihood. It is special and I love it.

My Richmond could be better if the city and surrounding counties embraced regional cooperation (we could learn from Charlotte!). My Richmond could be better with improved public transit, more sidewalks in the counties and more thoughtful planning in the suburbs.

My Richmond is a city pulsing with creativity and awaiting the full vision to realize.

My Richmond could be an inspiring, progressive community for generations on end.

My Richmond is the best ever. It has a great sense of community pride and spirit, and economic and worldwide fame and success. My Ricmhond could be a better tourism destination to showcase to the world with better recognition of its chances of becoming a truly world class city. But overall, I love my Richmond and prefer it over anywhere else in the world. Age is 23 and living in 23059.
